Welcome to Writing with Addi!

This is my little corner of the internet where I’m challenging myself to write weekly without a specific theme or goal beyond just writing. If you’re interested in an email every Tuesday morning with one long-form piece and random life updates, please subscribe!

About Me!

Writer Addissyn, a white woman in her twenties with chin-length brown hair wearing black sunglasses, a black tshirt, and a blue backpack smiling at the camera

I’m Addissyn, also known as Addi. I’m a twenty-something writer with a degree in Poetry and Women’s Studies. I’ve spent the last few years as a daytime nanny and a part-time freelancer. I’ve written for Oh Reader, Bitch Media, Foreword Reviews, and Inhabitat. I have also had poetry published in Acropolis Journal, Sunday Mornings at the River, and Musing Publications.

My personal writing focuses on the intersections of media studies and women’s studies, which is what I wrote my undergraduate thesis on. I also write short stories and have started drafting several novels that need a lot of TLC before they see the light of day. I am hoping to use Writing With Addi as a place to explore the essay ideas that noodle around in my brain but rarely get written down. If I am brave, you may also see some fiction here and there.

I knit, bake, and tend to my plants when I’m not writing or attempting not to binge television shows. My happy place is outside with good company, a book, and a fun beverage.
